Shilpa Shetty says she has a karmic connection with her racist tormentor Jade Goody.In an interview with Outlook magazine in India she says "Jade Goody 'made me' in the UK".
The extraordinarily athletic Bollywood actress, most famous for her aggressively sexual item numbers in Indian masala films, goes on to say that Big Brother gave her international recognition, which her earlier work hadn't done, and also 'a kind of respectability'.
Referring to the outright racism and bullying that made her Big Brother appearance so distressing, and which led to thousands of complaints from viewers, she says the 'cultural sensibilities' were what made the show so difficult.
